Leah Perry, Licensed Wildlife Rehabber
Director of Volunteer Operations and Education
Leah is a high school science teacher, and her educational background is in wildlife biology. She holds an MS in Biology from Southeast Missouri State and both a BS in Wildlife Biology and an MA in Science Education from Ball State. Leah’s career has woven together education and wildlife work, with experience in many roles—and even as the flying squirrel handler for a National Geographic documentary. She is passionate about Indiana’s native flora and fauna, such as creating backyard wildlife habitats and gardening for animals and insects. Outside of wildlife work, Leah enjoys biking, kayaking, camping at state parks with her husband and son, and walking her dogs. She also makes stained glass art. At Re-Wilding Indiana, Leah is our bat specialist, and also provides care for snakes and box turtles.
