Denise Burnett, Licensed Wildlife Rehabber

After corporate retirement, Denise found a fulfilling new chapter dedicated to service, wildlife, and community. Her lifelong passion for animals led her to ReWilding Indiana, where she serves as both a hands-on caregiver and organizer.

As the Co-Chair of Events, Denise plays a vital role in organizing the organization's public outreach. When she isn't planning events, she is frequently found at the facility tackling essential daily chores, cleaning barns, and feeding the wildlife. As a dedicated foster volunteer, she provides specialized care to turtles, baby rabbits, and opossums to prepare them for release back into the wild.

Denise’s compassion extends well beyond wildlife rehabilitation; she also serves her community as a  hospice volunteer, offering comfort and support to individuals and families during their most sensitive moments.

Outside of her extensive volunteer commitments, Denise’s life is anchored by her family. She is the proud mother of two adult children and a doting grandmother.
